About

St. Lawrence Martyr Church was founded in 1885 by predominantly Italian families who settled in Paradise Ridge, now Joelton, Tennessee. The original log church built that year was replaced by a brick Romanesque structure in 1897, which was destroyed by fire in 1936 and rebuilt again in 1937. The parish began formal schooling in 1948 with converted farmhouse facilities.
